For the 26th consecutive year, Jerry Moon has been appointed traffic and security chief for the annual Academy Awards Presentation by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Moon will coordinate all police, fire and traffic control and private security activities associated with the 69th Academy Awards telecast, which will be held March 24 at L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium.

Moon’s association with Oscar ceremonies started with the 44th Academy Awards Presentation, held in 1972 when he was still chief of security for Walt Disney Prods. Before working at Disney, Moon spent 21 years with the L.A. Police Dept.

The 69th Annual Academy Award Presentation will be televised live by ABC beginning at 6 p.m.
