NBR TO NAME ’96 HONOREES

NEW YORK – The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures will vote for its annual film awards on Tuesday and announce the winners the same day.

Founded in 1909, the NBR has been presenting its motion picture awards since 1917, longer than any other organization in existence.

Last year, five out of eight NBR award winners also received Oscars.

The 1996 NBR Awards also include career achievement and the Billy Wilder award. All of the group’s awards will be presented at a gala dinner on Monday, Feb. 24, at the Tavern on the Green in New York.
