Dennis Quaid has signed on to play the starring role in Initial Entertainment Group’s action drama “Savior,” currently shooting in Serbia.
The feature is directed by Yugoslavian helmer Peter (Gaga) Antonijevic, and scripted by Robert Orr. The Oliver Stone/Janet Yang Ixtlan production is executive produced by Cindy Cowan, IEG president of production and acquisition.
Based on a true story, “Savior” tells the tale of a French-American mercenary who reclaims his humanity by rescuing a baby orphaned by the Bosnia war.
The film is being fully financed by IEG, which controls all worldwide rights. With a reported budget of $10 million, “Savior” is IEG’s most expensive production to date.
The director of photography is Ian Wilson (“Emma,” “The Crying Game”); the editor is Gabriella Cristiani, Oscar-winner for “The Last Emperor.” Composer David Robbins (“Dead Man Walking,” “Bob Roberts”) will score the film.
Antonijevic’s directing credits include the Yugoslavia-made film “The Little One” (Mala).
IEG, in partnership with Bandeira Entertainment, recently wrapped the romantic comedy “Little City.”
