Grundy plays games with Latino ‘Man’

MEXICO CITY – Grundy Worldwide has struck a deal with three Latino broadcasters, led by No. 2 Argentine web Artear (Canal 13), for its gameshow “Man O Man.”

Artear has commissioned the 13-part hour series, but it will be jointly produced with Uruguay’s Saeta TV (Canal 10) and Paraguay’s SNT (Canal 9). Featuring contestants from all three countries, the show will bow in January.

Originated in Germany, “Man O Man” involves 10 male contestants and a studio audience of several hundred women. Contestants are eliminated one at a time by being pushed into a pool by female models.

A Grundy spokesman said the show tends to work best in macho societies, having scored strong ratings in Spain, Portugal and Italy.

The Latino version of “Man O Man” marks Grundy’s 12th production of the show, which also has been produced in the U.S., the U.K. and Australia. It will tape at the Hotel San Rafael in the Uruguay resort of Punta del Este.
