Duo’s ‘Revelation’ sold unto Eichinger

Screenwriters John Rice and Rudy Gaines have inked with Bernd Eichinger’s Constantin Films to write and exec produce “The Lost Revelation,” a supernatural thriller about a woman who discovers she is the subject of an apocalyptic biblical prophecy. Rice will also make his helming debut.

Gaines and Rice are currently at work on the adaptation of Alvin Bester’s sci-fi classic “The Stars My Destination” for Constantin and 20th Century Fox. Eichinger and Constantin creative exec Robert Kulzer snapped up the duo’s new project after reading the first act of the script and hearing a pitch for the rest of the story.

Installment plan

The 30-pages-and-a-pitch method has nailed a total of three high-concept deals for the scripting pair so far. They recently sold their South Pole thriller, “Purgatory Road,” to Warner Bros. Rice co-wrote “Blown Away” for MGM.

Sandra Lucchesi from the Gersh Agency brokered the deal for Gaines and Rice, along with Mark Gochman of Greenberg & Glusker.
