Lynda Keeler has joined Columbia TriStar Interactive as VP, interactive marketing. She’ll oversee promotion, marketing, advertising and public relations campaigns for Sony Pictures on the Internet. She’s also responsible for the marketing of SPE’s portion of the Station, a soon-to-be launched area of corporate World Wide Web site Sony.com.
Before joining Sony, Keeler was director of new media for Frankfurt Balkind, where she was instrumental in creating Web-based advertising and marketing material for 20th Century Fox, the L.A. Museum of Contemporary Art, HBO, the Blues Foundation, Microsoft and Sony.
She previously was director of marketing for HBO, where she oversaw launch of the cabler’s multiplex service and its Spanish-lingo channel.
Keeler currently serves as president of the Intl. Interactive Communications Society’s L.A. chapter.
“We want to find innovative one-on-one electronic marketing tactics that prove Web sites can be an effective way of getting butts in seats and eyeballs on the TV set,” Keeler said.
The interactive marketing division also will develop original content. According to information posted on the Station’s Web page, Sony plans to develop online versions of gameshows “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!” A preview version of the Station is slated for a January rollout.
Keeler reports to Richard Glosser, senior VP of Columbia TriStar Interactive.
