Wide-release debuts:

“Daylight” (U) filtered into second place with $10.2 million and $4,680 per screen on 2,175.

Holdovers:

Auds spotted “101 Dalmatians” (BV) $13.3 million in first, with $4,730 per screen on 2,812.

“Star Trek: First Contact” (Par) assimilated $6.6 million in third for $2,347 on 2,812.

“Jingle All the Way” (Fox) and “Ransom” (BV) tied for fourth with $5.4 million, the former with $2,246 on 2,404, the latter with $2,240 per screen on 2,411.
