Robert K. Shapiro, a former agent with Shapiro-Lichtman and the father of that agency’s founder Martin Shapiro, died Thursday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following a short illness. He was 86.
Shapiro was associated with Paramount Pictures for many years, serving as managing director of the New York Paramount Theatre from 1954-64.
That year he relocated to Los Angeles where he worked for ABC Television and Mann Theatres before joining Shapiro-Lichtman.
In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife, Dolly, another son, Michael, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Mount Sinai Memorial Park.
