John Louis Leo, former head of worldwide publicity for United Artists Corp., died Dec. 16 of a heart attack at his home in Carmel. He was 53.
Leo moved to New York in the 1960s, and subsequently landed a job with United Artists.
In Los Angeles, he worked for Avco Embassy, where he was in charge of advertising and publicity.
Leo started his own management and consulting business in 1971 and in the mid-’80s began a successful real estate career.
