Cutbacks coming at Gotham pubcaster WNET are threatening to shut down its New York studio facilities. “The MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour” is on its way out and “Charlie Rose” has already taken flight. Scrambling to make up for the lost tenants, WNET is trying to entice Montel Williams to do his syndicated yakfest from its studios. Williams has yet to sign the lease, but Wired hears there’s a good chance he will leave his current digs at Times Square Studios for WNET.
