Tribune’s syndication and station wings last week announced dual moves to increase the company’s international sales presence and boost first run programming.
First, Tribune Entertainment Co. tapped Worldvision Enterprises to serve as its international TV distributor for its current programming library and firstrun shows.
Tribune Broadcasting, meanwhile, hired Patrick Jarvis from Fox Television Stations Prods, as a senior producer for the company’s station group. Additional hires are expected to be announced next month to work in the L.A.-based development unit, which is producing fare for the stations and for syndication.
TEC has been seeking an international distributor since disbanding its small in-house international sales wing late last year as part of a companywide downsizing effort. The executive who headed international, Alan Grafman, was given corporate responsibilities.
Worldvision will oversee international sales efforts for Trib’s “Geraldo” and “Charles Perez,” as well as the weekly country series “The Road” (unlikely to return for a second season domestically).
