Top Of The Morning For ‘GMA’; Leno Streak Intact

“Good Morning America” beat NBC’s “Today” in the first post-sweeps week Dec. 4-8, holding the lead in homes and total viewers, while tying the NBC breakfastcast in key women’s demographics.

“GMA” averaged a 4.4 rating, 19 share to a 4.2/18 for “Today.” The two shows have remained in a neck-and-neck race throughout the season, with “CBS This Morning” (2.3/10) staying well out of contention.

CBS (5.4/21) did extend its daytime win streak to 353 weeks over ABC (3.8/15) and NBC (3.0/12) in homes and also held a 0.1-rating-point lead over ABC among women 18-49 and 25-54.

In latenight, “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” (4.9/14) topped “Nightline” (52/14 in its half-hour) and a repeat week of “Late Show With David Letterman” (3.8/11) in homes, total viewers and adults 18-49 and 25-54. “Tonight” has been first in households 16 consecutive weeks. –
