David Grant has been named chief operating officer of Tele-TV Media, overseeing acquisitions, finance, administration, legal affairs and other business operations, reporting to Media division president Sandy Grushow and chairman-CEO Howard Stringer.
Grant comes to the startup venture from Fox Broadcasting Co., where he’s been exec VP of network business operations since 1991. In joining Tele-TV the exec is reunited with Grushow, who previously headed the Fox Entertainment Group.
Grant spent the past 10 years at Fox, serving as a senior VP at the studio before shifting to his most recent position at Fox Broadcasting. In that capacity he oversaw business affairs for a variety of dayparts as well as special projects and broadcast standards.
Tele-TV is the recently christened joint venture of Bell Atlantic, Nynex and Pacific Telesis Group, which is being advised by Creative Artists Agency. Grant is Tele-TV’s first major hire since Stringer and Grushow were brought on board.
