San Antonio Switch

Fox Broadcasting is switching its affiliation in San Antonio, Texas, the nation’s 36th-largest market, from Paramount Communications’ KRRT to River City Broadcasting’s KABB.

Both stations are on the UHF dial. The switch is part of a complex series of transactions in the market that will ultimately result in River City programming both KABB and KRRT.

Paramount is in the process of selling KRRT to Jet Broadcasting for $30 million. As part of that deal, Par wants the station to be affiliated with the United Paramount Network, which launches Jan. 16, the day the affiliation switch goes into effect.

Meanwhile, River City has an application at the FCC to run KRRT through a local marketing agreement once the Par-Jet deal closes.
