Rysher Dropping Two Series

Rumors about the death of Rysher Entertainment’s “Thunder in Paradise” and “Robocop: The Series” were not greatly exaggerated.

Rysher has failed to renew the shows, which this season averaged a 2.6 and 2.5, respectively, in the Nielsen national barter rankings through Dec. 11.

Depending on budgets and the amount of international co-financing, a weekly hour series needs around a 4 rating domestically to be economically viable.

Rysher continues to syndicate this season’s highest-rated new action hour, “Lonesome Dove: The Series,” which is averaging a 4.5 rating. It also syndicates “Highlander: The Series.”
