FCC commissioner James Quello admitted Jan. 22 he’s had a rocky relationship with chairman Reed Hundt, but the veteran commish said he’s ready to bury the hatchet.
Quello, ad-libbing from a speech before the opening of the INTV convention, conceded that reports of discord between the two have been mostly accurate.
“The press played a terrible trick on me,” quipped Quello. “They quoted me verbatim. I can’t stand that kind of treatment.” Quello added, however, that the rifts with Hundt have not been quite as bad as reported.
Quello said he’s ready to extend an olive branch to Hundt, a fellow Democrat who faces a “tough” job. “I see no faults committed by others that I don’t see in myself. I’m looking forward to a good and improved relationship,” he added.
