NBC sets laughs vs. Series

NBC will put together hodge-podge nights of its sitcoms Oct. 25-26 to counter ABC’s World Series telecasts, the network announced.

The Peacock web will air a lineup of “Brotherly Love,” “Minor Adjustments,” “Frasier” and “The Home Court” on Wednesday, Oct. 25, and “Mad About You,” “The Pursuit of Happiness,” “Wings” and “NewsRadio” the following night.

The network obviously sees baseball as an opportunity to get some of its comedies sampled, particularly by women.

ABC and NBC will share the playoffs and World Series this year, with ABC to televise Games 1,4 and 5 of the Fall Classic and NBC airing Games 2,3 and 6. ABC won a coin flip that gives the network broadcast rights to the seventh game of the World Series, should it be necessary.
