There’s a new superhero in Saturday morning, with the Fox Children’s Network series “Spider-Man” having clearly swung into the lead in its third week as the highest-rated program in children’s TV.
In other Nielsen daytime and fringe rating highlights for the Feb. 13-17 week, “Today” inched ahead of “Good Morning America,” the O.J. Simpson trial helped “Nightline” run a strong second in latenight and CBS’ daytime lineup extended its household win streak to 311 weeks, while ABC was No. 1 among women 18-49 for the 43rd consecutive week in that daypart.
“Spider-Man,” which premiered Feb. 4, scored a 9 rating, 30 share among children age 2-11 and an impressive 5.5/18 in households.
Those results lifted Fox to an impressive 6.5 rating overall in the children’s demo, nearly equaling the combined score for ABC and CBS.
