Diller Taps Held As HSN Prexy-CEO

Barry Diller wasted little time bringing in his team to run Home Shopping Network, which announced Thursday the appointment of former QVC Inc. exec James Held as its new president and CEO.

The appointment displaces David Dyer, who’d been named prez three months ago, on the departure, of Gerald Hogan. Dyer retains his title as COO, a spokesman said, although the chances of him staying on longterm seem low.

Diller, who was appointed chairman of HSN Monday, said in a statement that Held “may be the ideal executive to manage HSN.”
