The Sunbeam TV stations in Boston and Miami – the nation’s sixth and 16th markets, respectively – will put Twentieth TV’s “A Current Affair” on the shelf in January to test a new locally produced half-hour entertainment lifestyle magazine called “Deco Drive.”

WHDH Boston and WSVN Miami targeted “Affair” because it occupies news lead-in and lead-out slots. The toned-down tabmag has performed strongly on both stations.

Sunbeam is in discussions with syndicators concerning a possible distribution deal if the new show tests well.

Twentieth also is looking for a new home in Los Angeles for “Affair,” which will get kicked out of its 7:30 p.m. berth in the fall on KNBC to make room for shows in which the station has an ownership stake.
