Morris E. Lefko

Morris Lefko, former vice president/general sales manager for MGM in the 1960s, died Jan. 26 in New York City of cancer. He was 87.

Lefko joined MGM in 1960 and was named veepee in 1963 and stayed in that position through 1970. Before that, he was VP in charge of sales for Michael Todd Prods, in New York. He also worked for Paramount and RKO.

After leaving MGM, he was VP of sales for Network Cinema Corp. and American Film Theater and worked most recently for Brut Prods.

His wife, Catharine, died in 1986. He is survived by his son, daughter-in-law, three grandchildren and his companion, Dr. Helen Summers.
