Tricky Bit Of Casting

Oliver Stone has been anxiously looking to cast “Nixon.” The filmmaker has gone through a series of actors in a search for one to fill the late president’s shoes for the Warner Bros. film.

Those Stone has looked at as possible Tricky Dicks include Tom Hanks, Robin Williams (whose salary demands WB deemed excessive for a heavy drama), Warren Beatty, Dustin Hoffman, John Lithgow and Anthony Hopkins.

So far, no one has taken the oath of office.

However, there is one actor who’s a perfect match for the part of Richard “I am not a crook” Nixon. British actor Geoffrey Palmer, who played a minor role as a doctor in “The Madness of King George,” may not know anything about the 18 minutes of missing audiotape, but he is the spittin’ image of the former prez.
