Quantum Intl., the international arm of the U.S.-based, global infomercial king National Media Corp., has signed an 85-hour-per-week programming deal with Dutch broadcaster RTL5, the largest single infomercial contract signed outside the U.S.

On the opening day of Mipcom Oct. 9, London-based Quantum will announce it has signed a contract with RTL 5 to sublicense transponder capacity from RTL 5 in exchange for an undisclosed part of gross revenues. The deal runs through the end of the year 2000.

Quantum’s “What’s in Store” channel, which hawks fitness products, cosmetics and electrical home appliances, will reach all of Holland’s cable homes.
