CARY GRANAT will exit his post as director of development for Universal Pictures to join Miramax Films in the new post of VP, office of the chairman.
Granat’s purview at the New York-based company will be broad in range, including but not limited to work on feature films. His main focus will be to develop new opportunities for Miramax.
Also, Miramax has hired indie producer SUSAN SOLT to head its physical production operations, reflecting the distrib’s expanding interests in the production arena. She’ll be responsible for the budgeting, scheduling and supervision of production teams.
Warner Bros. has promoted LORENZO DI BONAVENTURA, who’s the supervising exec on Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming “Assassins,” to exec VP of production.
Di Bonaventura shares the same executive stripes at WB as Rob Guralnick and Bill Gerber and ranks below only Bruce Berman, worldwide production prexy, and Lucy Fisher, exec veepee of worldwide production, on the production totem pole.
