Dan Kaufman, an attorney with a computer programming background, has joined DreamWorks Interactive to run the division on a day-to-day basis with Bruce Jacobson. The two are based in L.A.
Microsoft is DreamWorks’ partner for interactive ventures. Patty Stonesifer, Microsoft’s senior VP for consumer products, is acting CEO of DreamWorks Interactive. She remains based at Microsoft’s Redmond, Wash., headquarters.
Official job titles for the Kaufman and Jacobson have not been announced.
Kaufman comes to DreamWorks from the Palo Alto office of law firm Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, where he handled a range of clients in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property rights.
According to Brobeck marketing director Deborah Flora, Kaufman had been writing a book for Viacom-owned trade publisher Prentice Hall on the topic of intellectual property rights.
