Century Cabler Sends Tow Down Under

Century Communications, the 15th largest cable operator in the U.S., has dispatched Andrew Tow, president of Century’s cable division, to Australia to take charge of the company’s joint venture, Century-Australia Communications Corp.

The shifting of Tow, a member of Century’s founding family, is an indication of the importance of Australia to the global media companies that are elbowing each other for a piece of the potentially lucrative pay TV business Down Under.

Century’s senior VP of operations, Dan Gold, will succeed Tow as president. Three Century VPs will be promoted to senior VP: Judith G. Allen, in marketing and public affairs; Margaret A. Bellville, in the Southwest group; and JoAnn Cavallaro, in the Eastern group.
