“The X-Files” creator Chris Carter’s planning to script a feature based on the series, with hopes of shooting next summer. It sounds iffy, if only because star David Duchovny has resisted the idea of making his screen starring debut in the same venue.

Carter’s office said there has been some discussion, but that Carter himself has been very busy writing and directing early episodes of the show’s third season.
