Whistle Sea Change

Andrew Lloyd Webber has gone back and forth over whether to first do “Whistle Down the Wind” as a movie or a stage musical. Now sources say he’s making plans with Hal Prince to collaborate on the stage undertaking first, eyeing spring of 1997. That doesn’t derail the movie plans: There’s talk in the air that Lloyd Webber will test Kirsten Dunst, the young star of “Interview With the Vampire” and “Jumanji,” to play the lead role of a kid who runs into a drifter and thinks he’s Christ. Prince and Lloyd Webber last worked together on “The Phantom of the Opera.”
