After almost eight years in the post, David Rosenak, executive director of the Society of Stage Directors & Choreographers, quit Feb. 23 to pursue other theatrical projects.
The union reps some 1,100 directors and choreographers.
“After eight years, it’s time for me to move on,” Rosenak said. “I’m very proud of my years collaborating with the best choreographers and directors in the industry.”
Rosenak said he is looking to develop and produce theatrical projects suitable for multimedia markets, what he called a “new generation of theatrical product” that could also be sold as animated features or on CD-ROM.
A search committee to fill the top slot is being formed and should be set by the end of next week. Deputy exec director of the SSDC Kathryn Haapala said the hope is to fill the post inside of three months.
