Singleton Shifts To U, Too

John Singleton, whose association with Columbia Pictures dates to his 1991 directorial debut “Boyz N the Hood, ” will be joining the Zucker brothers, as he’s moving his New Deal Prods, to Universal.

The filmmaker has signed a two-year, first-look deal with the studio. Brad Smith runs New Deal Prods.

Singleton is busy helming Warner Bros.’ “Rosewood” for Jon Peters’ production company.

None of the parties involved was available for comment.
