Seventh Art launches $ fund

Seventh Art Releasing and Tapestry Films have set up a completion money fund to provide finishing money for indie features. Udy Epstein, a partner in Seventh Art, said the partnership hopes to target three projects per year, with up to $150,000 made available per project. One IFFM work-in-progress already has been chosen, although the deal hasn’t been inked, Epstein said.

Seventh Art is an L.A.-based distrib, repped at the IFFM with “Man of the Year” and “Headless Body in Topless Bar.” Tapestry is an L.A. production company best known for “Point Break” and “A Kid in King Arthur’s Court.” Execs from the two companies said they worked to finalize terms of the completion fund project in time to scout the IFFM’s No Borders sub-market.
