Eddie Murphy is getting back into action. The actor is wrapping talks to star in Caravan Pictures’ buddy action-comedy “Metro,” sources said.
Negotiations are under way for Murphy to star as a wise-cracking cop-hostage negotiator who is trying to deal with his rookie partner, do his job and negotiate through the craziness of his love life. Pic has been described as “Lethal Weapon” meets “In the Line of Fire”.
The role puts Murphy back into the action-comedy genre where he made his mark early in his career with “48 Hours” and the “Beverly Hills Cop” pix.
Written by Richard Feldman, Caravan bought “Metro” in a preemptive bid for $1 million in February and is set to start lensing early next year for producer Roger Birnbaum.
