Savoy Pictures has purchased the rights to legendary Green Bay Packer coach Vince Lombardi’s life story for $250,000. John Davis and David Friendly, in association with Tony Lord and Matt Weaver, will produce the pic, and the coach’s son will be a consultant on the project.
Under Lombardi, whose motto was “Winning isn’t the most important thing. It’s the only thing,” the Green Bay Packers won five NFL championships in the ’60s and the first two Super Bowls. He died of cancer in 1970.
There is no cast or screenwriter set at this time.
