Jacobson Co. Sets Sail

Tom Jacobson, who formed the Jacobson Co. at Walt Disney Studios after ankling his post as production president at Fox, has launched his banner by setting up a project at Hollywood Pictures.

Sources say he’ll pay $250,000 against $500,000 for an untitled pitch for a script to be written by Patrick Kopka and Dan Ljoka and produced by David Rotman (“Curse of the Bambino”).

The pitch is the story of a repo man whose domain is high-priced yachts. It turns into a “Midnight Run”-type actioner when the repo man gets in over his head.

It’s the second project Kopka, Ljoka and Rotman have placed at Hollywood, where Wind Dancer is developing their “Born Loser.”

The deal was made by Bruce Kaufman of Broder Kurland Webb Uffner, with Hollywood Pictures execs Michael Lynton and Michael Stenson assisting.
