Thirty-six years after his mother’s unsolved murder, crime novelist James Ellroy (“The Black Dahlia”) is on a search for her killer that, however it turns out, has already nabbed a $150,000-against-$1 million pic deal with producers Robert Greenwald and David Matalon. Greenwald (“A Woman of Independent Means”) is slated to helm.
The story first appeared as an article penned by Ellroy for British and American GQ magazine. It has also been bought as a book by Knopf, to be published in the fall of next year.
