Beacon Names Shestack Exec VP

In its first major hire since being bought by Washington D.C.-based Comsat Corp., Beacon Communications has named indie producer Jonathan Shestack (“The Last Seduction”) exec VP of production.

Shestack will be responsible for all day-to-day feature development and production at Beacon, which is expected to produce at least four pictures a year to be distribbed through Sony.

In addition, sources said that a new division has been formed inside Beacon called Lost Studios, with the mandate of producing two to three modestly budgeted comedies per year.
