The characters from “California,” played by Michael Caine and Maggie Smith in the Herb Ross-directed movie, will continue — 15 years later in “London.” Simon asked Caine to do the play — he begged off, however. He told Simon, “Count me in for the movie.” “London” will bow October in Seattle Rep pre-B’way, directed by Dan Sullivan. Simon warms up for “London” in June accompanied by his 13-year-old grandson Andrew, whose mother, Ellen (Mrs. Michael Florindi), is expecting a daughter in July. She’s also completing the rewrite on her “Moonlight and Valentino” script for Polygram … Ian Ziering segues from the final, two-hour seg of “BevHills, 90210″ to the bigscreen, starring in “Savat,” a post-Civil War Western filmed by the French FM Intl. Prods. French action star Olivier Gruner co-stars and France’s Isaac Forentine directs. The busy Ziering is also voicing 60 segs of “Biker Mice From Mars,” the top syndie’d animated series.
