‘Somers’ decision near for MCA

Speculation is rampant that MCA TV will decide shortly whether it will go ahead with the syndicated “Suzanne Somers Show” for fall.

The syndicator has announced clearances for the talker, which was rolled out late last month, on WCBS-TV in New York and KCOP locally.

One rep source suggested that “Somers” also has received a daytime clearance in Denver.

Sources say a number of stations appear willing to commit, but want assurances from MCA that it will stick with the project.

The syndicator alienated broadcasters a few years back when it pulled “The Kitty Kelly Show” from the market late in the selling season.

MCA TV prez Shelly Schwab did not return phone calls late last week.
