Jaclyn Smith has agreed to star in a TV movie adaptation of Bill C. Davis’ play “Spine,” to be produced by Dick Clark Prods. Clark and Neil Stearns will exec produce the project, which doesn’t have a network deal.

Davis’ credits include the play and feature “Mass Appeal.”

United Artists Theatre Circuit chairman/chief executive Stewart D. Blair will receive the humanitarian award from the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens. All proceeds from the June 13 dinner in his honor at the Marriott Marquis Hotel will benefit the 3,000-odd kids the Queens club helps annually.

Fingerhut Companies Inc. has signed long-term cable affiliation agreements with Time Warner Cable and Continental Cablevision covering at least 4 million cable subscribers for a new home shopping network, S the Shopping Network Inc. The deal includes an infomercial business operated by Fingerhut’s USA Direct Inc.

Brian Siberell has joined Creative Artists Agency as an agent in the movies-for-TV department. He was VP at HBO Showcase in New York, supervising such projects as “Strapped” and “Daybreak.”
