David and Jennifer Lynch are going commercial.
The father-daughter team has signed a deal with the Sci-Fi cable network, one of the Paramount-MCA jointly owned USA networks, to produce three 30-second spots and a 10-second ID for the network’s Welcome to the Edge ad campaign.
The spots will capture the science-fiction, horror and alien genre of the Sci-Fi network.
The campaign, developed by the ad agency Ahern New York and produced by Ciello Films, will include live-action special effects with digital compositing of film images including Dracula. Jennifer Lynch, director of “Boxing Helena,” will helm the spots that debut in mid-March.
“Jennifer and David Lynch are the leading edge of what we hope will be a comprehensive roster of creative talent to be associated with Sci-Fi’s marketing strategies,” said Andrew Besch, senior vice president of marketing, USA Network.
