HILVERSUM, Netherlands — A Dutch programming exec who helped launch the Netherlands’ first commercial TV network is joining NBC Super Channel as managing director, NBC said Wednesday.
Ruud Hendriks was deputy general manager of Luxembourg-based channel RTL4, which has maintained a steady 28% average audience share since its launch in 1989.
NBC Super Channel, available to 56 million homes in Europe and the former Soviet Union, hopes Hendriks will help expand the network’s European and global operations.
NBC acquired a majority stake in the ailing Super Channel in October. The station is a satellite-delivered general programming TV service based in London.
