Marvel in action

Genesis Entertainment is launching the “Marvel Action Hour,” a weekly animated series for fall consisting of “Fantastic Four” and “Iron Man” as two back-to-back half-hour spokes.

Additionally, Genesis announced that it will strip the high-rated weekly animated series “Biker Mice From Mars” beginning in the fall.

The premiere effort by Genesis and Marvel Film Animation (sister companies) to bring the comic book characters into syndication represents the first of several ani firstrun projects to be co-exec produced by Marvel prez/CEO Avi Arad and chairman Stan Lee.

Stations on board for the hour, which targets the 6-17 male crowd, include WPIX, New York, and WPWR, Chicago.

Genesis is offering the hour on a barter basis, with five minutes of national advertising time and 5 1/2 minutes of local time.
