A David Letterman guest shot on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” and the premiere of “Later With Greg Kinnear” delivered respectable numbers for NBC Monday, according to Nielsen overnight results.
“Late Night” averaged a 2.6 rating/13 share in the 30 metered markets, having last achieved that share with its second episode on Sept. 14.
Kinnear’s first installment snagged a 1.6/10 in the 28 markets in which it aired, representing “Later’s” best Monday rating since the show followed O’Brien’s “Late Night” intro in September, when Bob Costas was still the host. The guest was “Seinfeld’s” Julia Louis-Dreyfus (review, page 28).
CBS’ “Late Show With David Letterman” (6.4/19) continued to look strong even without an Olympic lead-in but received stiffer competition from “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” (5.0/15).
