Total TV advertising revenue jumped 9.6% to $ A1.8 billion ($ 1.35 billion) in fiscal 1992-93, according to a report from the Australian Broadcasting Authority.
The industry watchdog says revenue for capital city stations was $ 1.2 billion, up 9.7% compared with a 10% hike in 1991-92. Of that, only $ 160 million came from non-agency sources, down 8.7%.
In the regions, the miniwebs and indies also showed growth, pulling in $ 284. 4 million for the year, up 4% over 1991-92. Largest areas of revenue growth were South Australia and Queensland, said the report.
