Victor Lombardo

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Victor Lombardo, 82, band leader and youngest brother of Guy Lombardo of the Royal Canadians band, died Jan. 22.

Lombardo was taken to Boca Raton Community Hospital because of asthma a couple of days before his death.

A native of London, Ontario, Lombardo’s work was featured in hundreds of recordings and musical films in the 1930s and 1940s.

Lombardo was the saxophone soloist for the Royal Canadians and later formed his own band.

He moved to Boca Raton in 1978.
