PLA Media, the public relations/marketing company owned by Garth Brooks’ manager Pam Lewis, has elevated two key West Coast executives and created a new sponsorship/endorsement division.

Amy Kastens has been promoted to president of PLA and record-industry veteran Cary Baker has been added as vice president.

Both will be based in L.A.

Kastens is the former head of publicity at Carolco Pictures and has worked as a marketing and publicity consultant on such pictures as “Rambo” and “Angel Heart.” She is also a former head of West Coast publicity at Polydor Records.

Baker was most recently VP of publicity at Morgan Creek Records, and has served in a similar capacity at Capitol and I.R.S.Records, where he worked with such artists as R.E.M., Bonnie Raitt and Fine Young Cannibals.

PLA, which started in Nashville, opened its West Coast office last year. The company’s clients include Diamond Rio, Michelle Wright, Charley Pride, Carl Perkins, the themed-restaurant Country Star Cafe, comedian Yakov Smirnoff and Raygun/Bikini publisher Marvin Jarrett. ]

The company’s new sponsorship division will be run by Brenda Golden from the firm’s Nashville office. The division has signed Suzy Bogguss, Tammy Wynette and John Anderson for representation.
