Live Entertainment has tapped industry veterans Elliot Slutzky and Jeffrey Fink as executive VP of sales and marketing and VP of sales and distribution for homevideo, respectively. The two key exec appointments signal the company is close to finalizing its management team under the new regime.
Slutzky, who worked with Live president and CEO Roger Burlage at New World, will oversee the company’s theatrical, ancillary and homevideo arms and work with staffers in the acquisition and production of product.
“We’re positioning ourselves to become a full-service entertainment company,” Slutzky said, noting the Van Nuys-based firm will also launch a theatrical division in an effort to provide the company with an additional product source for its homevideo division. The theatrical arm is expected to be up and running by mid-1994.
“Elliot’s experience and vast knowledge in the industry will enhance Live’s image as we aggressively pursue our goals,” said Burlage.
Prior to Live, Slutzky was president of marketing and distribution for Vision Intl. and Stone Group, the joint venture between Epic Prods. and actor Michael Douglas’ Stonebridge Entertainment.
Previously, Fink was VP, sales and marketing, for the video division of Epic, where he developed marketing programs and sales incentives for its theatrical and non-theatrical releases.
