Universal Pictures has restructured its national sales and distribution arm, upping Mark Gaines and Nick Carpou and giving added responsibilities to distrib/marketing senior veepee Nikki Rocco.
Also, Albert Quaedvlieg has been promoted to veep/division manager, moving up from VP/metropolitan manager.
Gaines, who joined U in 1976 as a booker in the Atlanta branch office, will now take the title of senior veepee/national sales manager. Carpou will receive the same title, having started his career with Universal in 1982 as a booker.
Rocco, who handles marketing and distribution divisions, also will administer sales, branch operations, exhibitor relations and national accounting. She reports to distribution prexy Fred Mound and Perry Katz, exec VP of marketing. She joined U in 1967 in the studio’s New York sales department.
