Exec Shuffle

Jason Flom has been upped to VP of Atlantic Records. As the label’s A&R VP, Flom is credited with signing a diverse slate of talent including Skid Row, Tori Amos and Clannad. Flom also participated in the signing of the label’s 1993 success story, Stone Temple Pilots.

Dorien Sutherland has been named senior VP, Latin America, at Columbia TriStar Intl. TV, replacing Helios D. Alvarez, who retired after 35 years with the company. Sutherland will be based in Sao Paolo, Brazil. He headed operations there for ad agency McCann-Erickson, where he’s spent the last 17 years.

Vanessa Coffey, until recently exec producer/VP of animation at Nickelodeon, has formed her own production company, Toto Too Prods., to develop and produce live-action and animated TV programming. Coffey joined Nickelodeon in 1988 and for the past five years has overseen all animated series, including “Rug Rats” and “Ren & Stimpy.”

Amy Sprecher has joined New York-based Lancit Media Prods. as director of program development. She was manager of current programming at Lifetime Television.

Susan Austin has been named VP of research for MTM Worldwide Distrib’n. She was supervising director of TV research at MGM.

David S. Barrington has joined Twentieth TV’s network division as an account exec, dealing with New York agencies. He was previously VP and manager of national broadcast at Grey Advertising.

Joseph Plager has joined the Steve Tisch Co. as VP, television. He was exec VP in that area at another indie production company, O’Hara-Horowitz Prods. Prior to that, he worked at Creative Artists Agency and Imagine Films Entertainment.

David Palmer has been named director of marketing, domestic leasing and merchandising for Turner Home Entertainment. He will be based in Los Angeles.

Amy Leigh Johnson has been named VP of East Coast publicity for MGM/UA.

Norman Hayes has been named VP/director of domestic sales for Litton Syndications Inc. Hayes, headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., served for 10 years as VP of sales for the Southern wing of Multimedia Entertainment.

Karl Middleburg, former VP and manager of the Southern division of Worldvision Enterprises, has joined New Line TV as Southeastern regional manager.

Telemundo Group named Tara Gilani VP of communications and public relations.
