Sony Music bows fund

Sony Music Entertainment has joined the growing list of companies that have established earthquake relief funds for its employees.

Sony Corp. and SME have each donated $ 25,000, and the company’s human resources department will begin processing applications for $ 1,500 grants.

The company will also work in conjuction with the New York Entertainment Industries Credit Union to give employees access to low-interest loans that Sony will guarantee and pay the interest on for one year.

The financial programs will serve as an adjunct to the company’s already established employee assistance program, which will offer special sessions on earthquake relief and provide counseling.
